He had to wait for the call first before challenging...it cant be instaneous. The delay after the ball hit the catchers mit was the ump long wait in ringing him up for strike three, Peterson then challenges immediately. Umps delay

The player can't challenge the call until the umpire makes the call. He should've been able because he was within the time. These umpires need to think before they deny a challenge.

This is exactly why by next year maybe the year after whenever baseball resumes after there’s a lockout why there will be no home plate umpires, calling balls and strikes
