But the screen is the nurses office so they can see directly to the toilet, where there is also a camera (top corner). often the camera doesnt have the toilet in frame or is only used if observation becomes necessary. Just ask the staff and they'd tell you what their protocol is ❤️

Usually with cameras like this they have a section of the screen blocked out where the toilet is if that makes sense? So the camera does technically have view of the toilet but they can’t see the toilet on the screen xx

Yes. It’s so staff can monitor you (you have be taken to a place of safety on a 136 for a reason) and also for evidence if you assault staff or harm yourself.

Yes - This is normal sadly - At the end of the day, you are there due to a risk to yourself or others and they need to ensure they can see you at all times and make sure you are safe, they also have them in some psych wards, in bedrooms, depending on risk, etc!

In the hospitals I’ve worked at that have bathroom cameras there is often a small covering or marking on the camera to cover the actual toilet area however the rest of the bathroom is clear

Listen, I don’t agree with it being in the bathroom, but as a tech, I’ve seen shitty techs fired because they didn’t realize we had cameras in bedrooms and did some real messed up shit. Our bathrooms also had removable doors??? This whole thing is weird to me and I’m sorry you’re experiencing it.

where I work it's just a window with someone stood there watching you as you shower or use the toilet if it's a closed door, if it's open door they usually stand in the doorway. it is not something anyone enjoys but it is something that has to be done to keep someone safe

where i went there was two rooms and that was it, the staff weren't visible, apart from they could watch on cameras. Toilets were separate with doors that could be opened from either side. It might of changed as it was 3 years ago now.
