@nycinstantly: A new space for remembrance in Liberty Park 🕊️ The new Port Authority Employee Memorial honors the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey employees who lost their lives in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and the September 11, 2001 attacks. It also recognizes the public servants who were sickened or died from illnesses connected to the post-9/11 recovery effort. At its center are stainless-steel Twin Towers embossed with an American flag. The black-granite base is inscribed with the names of the 84 Port Authority employees killed on 9/11. Surrounding it, a rose-granite ring recalls the original 1993 memorial that was destroyed in the 9/11 attacks and bears the names of the employees lost in the bombing. A powerful tribute to their lives, service, sacrifice, and legacy. #neverforget
