@missy23232: Job interview tips from a recruiter who made hiring decisions for 20+ years. Interviewers form a quick opinion of whether they like you, so mastering a little small talk before the real questions start can go a long way. Most people prepare for job interviews by memorizing their resume. That's not what gets you hired. I coach professionals on exactly what hiring managers are evaluating and how to walk into any interview as the obvious choice. I help professionals land the job, get the promotion, and show up like the leader they already are. #interview #interviewtips #careercoach #careertok #LearnItOnTikTok
Thank you for those points. I love your dress or top. Which ever it’s nice.

I review the interviewer background on Linked-In plus ask anyone who may know anything about the person to facilitate small talk. I nailed an interview by knowing where they went to college and turned out we had a mutual friend. I had the job before the first question was asked.

I agree but this is hell for neurodivergent people. You’re going to lose a lot of potential excellent employees for the lack of inclusivity

I think there’s a lot of pressure put on the interviewee but really I think interviewers need a lot more training. My favorite is when an interviewer starts small talk. Not all do.

I prefer small talk and getting to know you discussions. It’s the “tell me about a time that you..” types of questions that trip me up. I now have my key example talking points which help greatly and cover most situations, but I truly prefer relationship building discussions.

Yep, just got rejected after the final round based on a 25 minute talk with a co-founder because he didn’t think I’d be “bold enough” or enough of a “go-getter” 🙄

its 7 seconds. your first impression is based on the first 7 seconds and it's almost impossible to change someone's mind after that.

Is it inappropriate to request a skills based interview? It is very hard to win this game while being autistic.
