They’re simply there. You call them tomorrow. Visit next week. Have that conversation another day. And life keeps moving. Work gets busy. Families grow. People move to different cities or countries. Months somehow become years. Until one day, you begin noticing things you didn’t notice before. Their voice sounds a little different. They move a little slower. They start telling the same stories you’ve heard a hundred times. And suddenly those ordinary moments don’t feel quite so ordinary anymore. That’s why being present with family matters. Not because we should live afraid of losing the people we love, but because knowing that time is limited should make us appreciate having them now. Call your parents. Ask them questions about their lives. Listen to the stories you’ve already heard. Take the photograph. Sit at the table a little longer. Tell them what they mean to you while they can still hear it. Because one of life’s greatest privileges is having the opportunity to appreciate someone before they become a memory. So here’s the question I think this one deserves: If you knew an ordinary moment with someone you love would someday become one of your favorite memories, would you experience it differently today? #coralsantoro
