Crucially, MOM rules state that employers must not install video recording devices in areas that compromise a domestic worker's privacy or modesty. This strictly includes areas where the worker sleeps, changes clothes, or uses the bathroom. Furthermore, employers are mandated to provide adequate space and privacy for their domestic workers' accommodation—including a separate room where possible—or ensure sufficient privacy if sharing is unavoidable. MSNews also highlighted that MOM reiterated in a parliamentary reply that domestic workers facing privacy concerns can seek advice and support through the Migrant Domestic Worker helpline, or reach out to assistance organizations such as the Centre for Domestic Employees (CDE) and the Brahm Centre.
