You know what’s sad about this? That guy probably thought that cake pop was the first nice thing that happened to him that day.

You know what I would do if a delivery driver took a $5 cakepop from the stand in front of my house through a misunderstanding? I'd consider it a fucking tip and leave him the hell alone. Idk why thats so controversial or difficult.

This happened where I live and when I tell you the Facebook pages for our city are POPPING with hate toward that business … and rightfully so. They suck.

Someone sent them money to cover his cake pop and they sent it back because they “wanted him to take accountability”

the 'help yourself' was absolutely bait for this to happen. there is no way you can act like people leaving snacks for delivery drivers isn't posted everywhere.

It's not real business. It's basically the equivalent of an adult lemonade stand.

And the husband was like “well my wife put a lot of time and effort into those cake pops” OK? And delivery drivers don’t bust their butt doing jobs for OTHER people? Like it’s so insane. That poor man

mind you, this could’ve been made into something light hearted if the “bakery” made the post talking about “hey this actually wasn’t free, but come back & we’ll hook you up” 😒 all that over $4 is just disgusting

While “treat yourself” doesn’t necessarily translate as “this is free to anyone who’d like one” to me, I can see how the mixup happened and how someone doing physical work in the heat might misinterpret the sign in that moment. It’s really crazy how they want to drag him through the mud after he did what he could to make it right after an honest mistake

I heard some people were reporting their stand to code enforcement, because someone in the same county had the same setup, and code enforcement made them remove the stand.

As an ex delivery driver. I can guarantee you that’s the first and possibly only good thing about that job for the entire week. Those snacks people put out are, actually life savers.

I mean why would you just….leave your products out like that in the first place??? That’s so silly. They’re lucky all that’s happened is a driver accidentally taking a $4 cake pop.
