all our problems come back to intensive farming and the way we treat animals.

so glad we had halal meat. I remember in the 90s, "mad cow disease" was ALL OVER the news. I was a child and didn't understand at the time bc we still ate beef at home. I remember my brother was scared to eat it, but our meat was fine, so it wasn't an issue for us. I'm just glad the gov finally took action. Condolences to all those it affected 💔 awful.

All they had to do was remove the brain and spinal cord from the carcass before rendering it🫠

for everyone saying they're fine after eating beef during the 90s mad cow disease outbreak, mad cow disease can be dormant in your body for up to 50 years. we're not out of the woods yet 😭😬

In ‘97 I had a corneal transplant, and about 6 or 7 weeks later the front page news was someone catching CJD from the exact same procedure. Next appointment with my Dr. to remove stitches, he said “I suppose you’re a bit worried” …. Erm, YES!

I can remember driving in the Lake District at the time, wondering what the smell was - came over the brow of a hill and saw a massive pyre of dozens and dozens of cattle. It was disturbing and eerie - remember feeling sick to my stomach.
