The biggest problem here is heat transfer. You cannot solder to something so massive without massive heat.

if you would have started by cleaning the motor with sandpaper (or a wire brush) to begin with, you would not have had to do all of that nonsense with the battery. 🤔This has been 1 minute of my life i wont get back. SMH🤬

why not clean the place you're soldering to and use Flux but always make sure surface is clean bare metal then Flux

if flux not in hand reach use vasaline. if vasaline out of reach scratch it. scratching works fine as seen in this video.
