bismillah, firstly black and white here didnt mean the literal physical colour the words white and black were used in the quran symbolically and to explain a spirtual state (3:106): "On the Day some faces will turn white and some faces will turn black..." this ofc doesnt mean on the day of judgement some will come with literal black faces and white faces and this is how majority of scholars interpret this hadith, white here means the light of faith or the spirtual radiance (this is also mentioned in other ayahs aswell) as ibn abbas ( the prophets cousin) said. Thirdly this guy who made the video that clearly tried to show that islam is racist or hadith in particular why didnt he show the hadith of the prophet that says "An Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab, nor a non-Arab over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over a black, nor a black over a white except by piety and good action." bare in mind this hadith is much stronger in sanad and matn so his interpretation is inconsistent with the theology of the prophets teachings hence is very inaccurate plus many of the companions were black and one of them was bilal one of the greatest companions and was the man who does athan and one of the most beloved people to the prophet according to the very racist islam and hadith. Fifth point the man was addressing his own insecurities because during that time according to the community and their tradition having a black skin is seemed more unattractive to people (just how it was in europe not long ago) which made the man insecure due to the racism in that society (jahiliya) the propget then immediately validated him granting him the highest spirtual status and this is a lesson to the racist society that there is no hierarchy in martyrdom and that they are all equal in the eyes of allah no matter what colour you are or how rich you are. and thank you for exposing your cherry picking and lies

Aahhh again.. This is a complete misunderstanding of the Arabic language. In Arabic, 'a white face' is a metaphor for honor, radiance, and joy, while 'a dark face' means shame, sorrow, and despair, it has nothing to do with skin tone or race, just like 'bright' and 'gloomy' in English.
Prophet Muhammad explicitly condemned racism, famously stating: 'A white person has no superiority over a black person, nor does a black person have superiority over a white person, except by piety and good deeds. 🙂 Try harder next time 🙂

Most people in the comments section don't know Arabic or English. Skin brightening or skin whitening are the same thing.

i’m not even religious but how does everyone lack simple comprehension and basic critical thinking to understand that it’s referring to the “brightening” of the face… like “noor”. Not turning from black to white.

I’m not even religious and I know when early Arabs said a person was abyad (white), they meant unblemished, pure, generous, or of noble character, rather than pale skin. It doesn’t literally mean being white skinned, it refers to someone’s character. They used red (Ahmar) for white skin. Plus the Prophet's lineage (the Banu Hashim) had many individuals described as “adam” (intensely dark brown or jet black). And in the Arabic dictionary, Lisan al-Arab (The Tongue of the Arabs) it says, “Red (Ahmar) refers to non-Arabs due to their “white” complexion which predominates among them. And the Arabs used to say about the non-Arabs with whom white skin was characteristic, such as the Romans (Byzantine), Persians, and their neighbors: 'They are red-skinned and the Arabs attribute white skin to the slaves."

It doesn’t mean that. Whitened your face": In classical Arabic and Qur'anic terminology (such as in Surah Ali 'Imran, 3:106), a "white" or "radiant" face is a metaphorical idiom for honor, joy, and divine acceptance. It is a spiritual radiance (noor) given to those who succeed in the afterlife, rather than a commentary on physical race. Conversely, a "darkened face" in classical idiom represents grief, shame, or failure. Had to search up

“May God whiten your face” (In Arabic: “بيض الله وجهك") is an idiom or metaphorical expression that even modern Arabs still use when saying thank you, etc. Its literal meaning is may God shine light out of your face, not to make your skin actually white.
