🚨ASHLEY SCHEDULED FOR EUTHANASIA 9/4 AT 3PM🚨 💔 Ashley’s story has bothered me from day 1. This beautiful Husky mix was found as a stray, already microchipped. When the shelter contacted her owners, they claimed they had “never had a dog” and didn’t know who she was. Except they had adopted Ashley from another local shelter years ago. They knew exactly who she was, but didn’t want her anymore. Ashley ended up at scared & stressed in the shelter, but she remained incredibly sweet, calm, submissive, affectionate, polite, & dog friendly. She loves people & wants to be close. As the stress continued, she developed hot spots that staff have been treating. Then on 8/22, Ashley was adopted. After everything she had already endured, we thought she finally had her home. Just a few days later, she was returned. Ashley became extremely attached to the resident senior dog. She wanted to be beside him constantly, but he didn’t want that attention. Her adopter said he couldn’t eat because she was always in his face & couldn’t sleep because she wanted to sleep on top of him. When the adopter tried taking only him for a car ride, Ashley panicked and tried to get out, so both dogs had to go. Now Ashley is back in the shelter with a euthanasia deadline. She wasn’t trying to be difficult. She had finally found a family and a dog she thought was her friend, and she desperately wanted to be included. Ashley wants companionship, a family, & love. She just needs the right match, proper introductions, boundaries, separate spaces when needed, & time to adjust. Bringing a new dog home isn’t always perfect from day one. Ashley deserves someone willing to help her learn what life in a home looks like instead of giving up after a few days.
