the most credible & accurate census is of colonialists. post-colonialization have been manipulated especially during Moi's time. the British's census placed Kikuyus at 22% + 12% the rest of Mt. Kenya ethnicities (Meru, Embus, Mbeeres etc) = 34% making the claim plausible. in Kenya only Somalis have changed the demographics dramatically cause of inflows from ethnic Somalis from Somalia who acquired Kenyan Id's illegally.
