I’m in IT and I try to use AI as little as possible. 98% of my usage is probably from Google results for an answer, which I will then go to the webpages to verify.

I was looking for a job a few months ago and so many companies had the “must be AI native” requirement in the job post. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not against AI, but why do they act as it’s something necessary for EVERY role (I was looking at account manager/CSM roles)? It’s not even a skill, it’s just knowing how to correctly prompt a machine, and I’m saying this as someone who wrote their master’s thesis on prompt engineering

she made a response video doubling down on it and then quickly backtracked and deleted it essentially saying if you aren’t using ai you aren’t “productive” and you don’t “prioritize” your career. I posted it on my acc since I saw it before she deleted it. it’s bad, like genuinely really bad

As a fellow hiring manager, you may be taking it too literally. To me, someone who lives in 2026 and hasn’t spent time understanding (and to at least some extent utilizing) AI, it means that person is honestly behind tech-wise. If I need someone who is a quick adopter in an industry where tech changes rapidly, someone who hasn’t used AI will never be a leader who will push my firm into the future vice hold it back.
