We know Venezuela needs to import oil in order to thin to transport its heavy crude, and then it is very expensive to process. The landed cost will be significantly more expensive to the US than Canadian oil.

Assuming any of this even comes to fruition, they will never be able to put any of this oil in the strategic reserve because it will destroy that cavern. Its probably at least a decade away before anything meaningful even happens and thats assuming Venezuela doesn't have some sort of uprising between now and then and takes there oil fields back. For Canada, we should assume they will have oil coming out of the ground in 10 years and take the next 10 years to get as many pipelines built as we can with the primary goal of getting our oil exported to other markets.

there's absolutely no way that 65 billion barrels available today the infrastructure of Venezuela's oil fields is a disgrace they won't be able to get anywhere near it anything out of that for at least five to seven years cuz the infrastructure just isn't in place

Venezuelan oil needs expertise….those oil fields need major repairs and upkeep..and future investment. Venezuelan govt needs to be smart….Let US in for a few years..develop the industry…then kick them out in 10 years🙂
