don't let anyone tell you your way isn't right. I'm an eclectic because I take a little from other areas of the craft to make it my own. there are no rules set in stone, if you need to do a spell, you don't have to wait for the right moon cycle or time, just do it. everything is in your intent. it doesn't have to be fancy and white candles can be replaced for any other candle color. but read alot and find out what fits for you.

Ancestor work the safest thing you can do as a beginner just make sure you give your ancestors a talisman man for protection cause some witches can steal ancestors or any spirit they please to use them for their own will or foment them or bind them to objects I know this hoodoo practitioner who had her grandma’s spirit stolen and she was never able to sense her grandma’s again becareful with witches you let in your circle witch friends≠good people or company I had a ex witch friend who tried to put a d3ath curse on me I was suppose to get murd3rded on a date but Anubis warned me the day before saying it wasn’t my time to d!3 yet
