@liam.out.loud: Are weak people less likely to find truth? It would seem the strong ask: "Is this true?" While the weak ask: "Will I be safe if I believe this?" Multiple studies have shown a link between testosterone levels and resisting social conformity.

This is interesting and I would like it to be true. Is there a source material on this claim?

It’s interesting I have a friend who used to be totally secure in himself physically and psychologically, never had a reason to doubt himself or faced any real confusion about his identity, and he was always very conservative politically when it was very unpopular to be conservative. But in the last few years he had some unexpected medical scares that temporarily stopped him from being able to work or drive, and the anxiety never went away once he was 100% again he just spiraled into this neuroticism about everything and developed this almost offputting desperation to be seen as attractive to women around the same time- and his ideologies have completely flipped in the process and he’s as liberal now as he used to be conservative. Like as soon as fear and insecurity entered his bubble he totally changed into that kind of “whatever is safe to believe is what I believe”, passive aggressive, fence sitting personality. I’m not political so I don’t care but that change was really confusing to watch

Yknow that would actually make a fair bit of sense tying into DV cases. If testosterone levels in fact correlate to restraint of dishonesty, immorality and injustice; then men who may not be abusive in the early stages of a committed relationship could be prone to more violent or dishonest behaviour when they experience the natural testosterone drop caused by the brains recognition of a “long-term mate.” Which would also make sense as to why some men go from non-abusive to abusive when their first child is born as that is also a major T drop off. Obviously this is all purely theoretical until multiple peer reviewed studies are conducted, as well as this is not an excuse for egregious behaviour by any means. However if a direct correlation can be found between abusive tendencies and testosterone levels decreasing, as long as there’s also not an element of psychopathy or sociopathy tied to it, then there could potentially be a path to mitigation via TRT. I highly doubt we’ll see enough studies done on this though to ever make a difference, however it’d be worth a look if it could in fact mitigate DV in male involved relationships.

It is an interesting study and the interpretation of the results might carry some truth, but the basic assumption is still that men’s morality is what drives « society’s consensus on reality » and that how the majority, i.e. women, doesn’t in fact outweigh this effect of the « strong man ». I think having to prop men’s virtues doesn’t in fact show their beneficial effect on society.

common Sense used to literally be a common sense of behavior, reality, morals, ethics etc. this stemmed from a common ideological foundation, in America, it used to be Christianity. Secularism destroyed that. Moral subjectivism has made it worse. Now, everyone does what is right in their own mind, and there is no common sense of right and wrong.

I have observed this in my own clients. and there's multiple studies that support the claim. and it's not just about testosterone, it's about having a code and living by it.
