I just came to say it was definitely some sort of fuel restriction, went through the same problem with a cub cadet zero turn ended up having gunk stuck in the fuel line 🤣

evac all the fuel, even what is in the high pressure fuel pump. add new mid grade crank for 10 seconds key off 10 seconds crank 10. should start on 2nd or 3rd cycle. Kohler is super sensitive on bad fuel.

I change all the fluids before I do anything to try to start it. Last one I had had more water than oil in it.
