the vast majority of people never have actually dealt with someone in psychosis before. I can tell you from experience that people in psychosis whether it's based on their typical mental health or a temporary issue like postpartum, are very unpredictable. the average person is not used to dealing with something like that and typically they are in denial of how bad it can actually be or get. BUT that's because people take mental illness very unseriously and they don't realize how quickly things can turn. he should 100% be charged with neglect of some sort after this case. a lot of cases where people in active psychosis kill their children there were a hell of a lot of signs ahead of time that those kids should not have been left alone with the parent. I watch a lot of true crime.

I agree that her circumstances should be taken into account with her mental health and everything, but we also shouldn't remove agency from people like this entirely. She still killed her kids lol. I feel like we're maybe skipping over that a little quickly. Like what she did was nuts and disgusting, regardless of whatever anybody else around her did.

Yeah hindsight is always 20/20. This is why I hate commentary on this kind of stuff because everyone starts with the knowledge of the outcome. The husband might have known his wife had mental issues and maybe could have handled it better but I highly doubt he knew she would kill all the kids.

Yep, the fact that he stayed with her for so long and didn’t go immediately check on the children, let me know that he did not think in 1 million years that she would kill the children.

Her defense team have explicitly acknowledged from the beginning that she physically killed her children, she entered a formal plea of "not guilty by reason of a lack of criminal responsibility (insanity).” Regardless she’ll either be in hospital or prison for a long time

What’s funny is, no one would be defending him if he were a veteran with severe PTSD, and he did what she did. Same with school shooters. No one reserves judgment until they hear how the shooter was feeling. No one says “the school shooter’s doctors just failed them. They are not guilty!” Despite there being no doubt that they did it, and their mental health was absolutely a factor

I highly disagree with the retro look Destiny implied here on events. I rejected two girls because my thoughts in real time told me certain behaviors were red flags. One ended up having the clap cause she went to the clinic I worked at so I found out, the other I rejected cause she was cagey talking about sex then found out from my cousin the girl had herpes. I bet dozens of people take behaviors serious because of suspicions in real time
