ok so basically this is my MHA oc Kiru and basically his mom (Shirika Namakashi, leader of a girl gang in Osaka) and dad (Tomoda Akiharo, just some guy) had his sister but then his mom got pregnant again and his dad left for the milk, leaving her as a single parent. so basically since her husband left, she slowly spiraled into a depression, leaving his sister, Ayame Akiharo, to take care of him more and more often until she was basically his mother figure. Shortly after Kiru turned 5, Shirika became a drug and alcohol addict. with this, Ayame and Shirika started to fight a bit, since Ayame couldnt take care of her brother 24/7, being a student with a life and all, and Shirika being out basically all the time, when she was home, it was a disaster, sometimes arguments lead up to objects being thrown and minor injuries being caused. All this pressure caused Ayame to become passively sewer slidal, only passively because somebody needed to take care of her little brother, and no one would if she were dead, so she just kept it bottled up (bad idea bud). Kiru, while young, was very empathetic and kind towards others. seeing others in pain made him upset, and he wanted to do the best he could to make everyone happy, even when he himself were sad, naturally making him want to be a hero. one day, in one of Ayame and Shirika's fights, things had escalated to shouting and throwing things. being worried, he rushed downstairs to see what was going on. Shirika, in a blind rage, lunged a broken glass bottle at his face and it shattered in his eye, the glass obviously scarring the tissue. he got quieter as he got into middle school, but he stayed just as kind and empathetic. though, he took after his sister, staying quiet about his pain. he'd noticed the pressure slowly building up on his sister, as well as how his mother looked at him with apathy and felt terrible knowing he caused it. it was worse for Ayame, though. every day, she had to look at Kiru's eye and know it was her fault and that she couldn't protect him well enough, that she didnt deserve a boy like him as her little brother if she couldn't protect him, but she held it together, still. im NOT done, p2 in replies

the hate for OCs especially in fanfiction spaces is so weird because like 90% of fandom refuses to engage with canon characters in their base states anyway, people will eat OCs up if they're wearing the skin of a canon character (the undertale fandom is a prime example of this)
