with the villains deck, there isnt a way to truly shortcut it, since you draw/conives. so as long as you know the flow chart of what you need on board to win. you might see six steps to win but the draw makes the steps 3. thats fine. if you play in cedh tournament its 80 mins per round. it is ok.

as long as you're taking actions quickly, all good. if its a pain to keep up with, maybe its just not a deck worth playing. i stopped playing cathars crusade in decks bc its such a pain to keep track of. but, if you're popping off all the time, it sounds like the other players are not playing enough interaction. also, if youre playing a villians deck and feel bad for taking long turns, you should just lean into the spirit of the deck. be the villian. take joy in their suffering!

I have a deck that i find fun but the turns take soo long, especially if the ability ends up cycling and then i just feel bad

yeah, i had a varient of ashling that i thought would be funny to basically make half the deck cascade. hilarous as it is to cascade from 8 at turn 4, it does take...exponentially more time per turn than everyone else due to all the triggers going on the stack lol

Some strategies have long turns and they can definitely be annoying. What I do is give a heads up about what’s about to happen and that I’ll do my best to get through it. If it’s the whole deck, you clear that up beforehand, if it’s occasional plays then…“Okay, this’ll be a pretty big turn. I’m going to try to run through it quick as I can. If you got any responses or need something clarified just interrupt me, otherwise I’m just going to plow through.”

taking your time and getting things right is better than having to rewind the boardstate because you messed up. the same people that roll their eyes over the length of turn will take just as long if they were in the same position. the more you play your deck the more familiar you'll get with all the situations and the faster you'll get 🔥

My villains deck is the same. I'm surprised that it's one of my best decks. My opponents didn't seem to like it but it's one of the few times I'm not being kicked by their decks
