A) nobody trusts the govt anymore, esp after Trump. B) nobody trusts the corporate food supply. C) working class Americans are fine with leaner beef if it’s domestic. D) Americans want a trustworthy food supply that doesn’t cause disease, no hormones, no antibiotics, no cancer causing pesticides, etc

I feel like maybe the only good thing this administration has done is forced us all to get a crash course on how certain systems work in this country. fwiw, I'm vegetarian but I've always felt that at least some of my concerns would be alleviated by more people buying meat from a local butcher.

The trouble is not that we’re importing beef because we’ve always imported it but they won’t say where it’s coming from. Americans want transparency and without that, we’re ready to turn and run. I don’t care if I’m eating stuff from somewhere else, I just want to know it’s safe to consume which the current admin has been woefully remiss considering all of the diseases and parasites floating around.

I bought half a cow from a local farmer 2 yrs ago, it was 1.5k for it and 500 for the processing. I did not like the taste at all, to me it tasted like death or too much like blood. Any idea on why is that?

Love this video Nate! 110% agree with this ultimately being the fault of consumers demanding a homogenous food market across the US 365 days a year. I feel like a lot of these issues would self-solve if we accepted seasonality of produce and limited supply of livestock depending on regionality like the rest of the world

Buying half of a cow every year is a big upfront cost, but I’ve never been so thankful we plan for that every year. Knowing we have great beef from a local farm in our freezer gives me so much peace of mind, and it keeps our local farmers in business!
