I genuinely think real fans of the franchise want an original story within the canon lore of the games. There were roughly 100 survivors (most un-named) who survived the infection and destruction of Racoon City. An original story about one of those survivors would have been great. There’s also the Arklay Mountain incident prior to the events of RE1. There are so many stories they could have adapted that would have been faithful to the games without doing a 1-to-1. and most people just say something along the lines of "you just want leon", like no, I like the leon stories we have and trust Capcom to make those, when I heard it was a guy in raccoon city during the outbreak I thought that sounded awesome, but now that it totally detached from any common lore, I just ask why still call it resident evil, change the name and I have nothing to be upset about And do that's exactly what i'm insane is literally slapping neymar, because I wouldn't mind if it was an original story. I would love that, but he's taking it where a racon city in twenty twenty six that makes no since.
