bite risk, sick stray hold, demodex, 6+ hold. high prey drive could be worked with, I'd start to worry about mental symptoms starting with 6 month hold dog

the incredibly sick one would be the easiest pick. the Man bites probably too. prey drive dog too. I don't like know about the mange dog, is the medicine expensive or rather cheap?

I feel like the list starts with any kind of aggression, then to behavioral issues, then sickness, then time in kennel, then visual. In my opinion, we shouldn’t be keeping any dogs with any kind of aggression around whether it’s towards men only or not. There are too many non-aggressive dogs to save kennel space for ones who will bite your hand off.

Had someone seriously tell me kill shelters need to be banned for euthanizing good dogs after I said “all dogs on a euthanasia list are there for a reason”

i’d euth all but the “not very appealing looking dog” He’s the only immediately placable dog in my opinion. Everyone else is a cost to treat, has an immediate health concern, or is a bite risk. You can’t keep a dog away from half the population, for the rest of its life, because they don’t like them and will bite, and high prey drive is miserable to try to train out of an adult dog, is crap on walks, potentially dangerous to the dog, and can under the wrong circumstances result in an accidental human bite

I would love to adopt but the spca won’t allow me to due to my seven week old kitten not being fix and my older female cat not being fixed :( it’s about $200 for each to get fixed and with the cost of living I can afford $400 for them be fixed they never go outside so the risk of pregnancy is very low plus the kitten isn’t old enough to be fixed

Dumb question but do y’all ever end up with other pets like fish? I have an empty but fully established 13.3 gallon tank that I currently just use to propagate plants. I love bettas and currently have one named Bubbles in another tank. I’ve been wondering if it would be weird to reach out to my local shelter and offer to foster any bettas they may get?
