Hopefully this doesn’t lead to them saying “am I stupid?!” and believing it, when they have a bit of trouble figuring something out. While it seems innocent, this can have lasting effects on how your children view themselves. I do love the way you made them think about your actions and theirs though, hopefully he pays more attention to his surroundings next time 😁😊

Honestly I think the real blunder is ignoring him when he said that he didn't understand. In my opinion it's okay to be a little stem. Sometimes, kids only understand that the stakes are high when we are a little sharp with them. If you had stopped to explain it, his take away would be that he has to stay alert in dangerous situations. But if you ignore him, his takeaway is more likely to be that you're tired of his mistakes. Either way, nobody is perfect. If this is unusual, then he'll get over it

look into a banked blade brush cutter/brushhook. they sell them on long handles at most farm and garden stores, perfect for that shrubbery. don’t forget a file to sharpen a edge on it.👌🏻
