— Work had just ended, and you looked outside. The sky was dark, building being lit by soft lamps around the lobby. Just as you were reaching for keys in your purse, a hand grabbed your arm from behind. It was Jihyo. You didn’t see her face, but you knew from the scent she always carried with her. The scent that drove you insane everytime she walked by. “Do you need a ride?” She said. It had been months and she still asked this question. Everytime, you hesitated. She was dangerous. You knew if you accepted this offer, things would never be the same again. You and Jihyo could feel the tension between the both of you, but it ate you alive knowing she was only your boss, and you were a mere employee. “Why won’t you say yes?” Jihyo asked, this time inching closer to you. So close, that the silence around you made Jihyo’s breathing so loud. You stood there in silence, contemplating whether to accept her offer. “Okay.” You said. What could be the worst that could happen? At that moment, her eyes lit up with a sparkle. Even in the warm light, you could see the excitement in her eyes, and the last thing she said was “Great,” right before grabbing your hand and walking out the front door with you. The night was a blur. First, she took you out to dinner. It was a fancy place, but Jihyo had reassured you and said you looked great. After eating and talking, you didn’t realize how fast time flew by. “Do you want to head out now?” Jihyo asked, and you said yes, surprised she said what you were thinking. The next place you went to was a high end clothing store. “Pick out whatever you like. I’ll buy it for you.” Was she being serious? So, you did as your boss said. You walked around the store, touching things that grabbed your attention. Everything you laid fingers on, Jihyo pointed to the store assistant to grab. After a while, you got tired and told her you looked through everything. She gave a small nod, and headed to the register to check out. As you peeked at the receipt, the zeros in the total were endless, but you didn’t mention it. You just thought about how you would pay her back for this. “Are you okay?” She asked you. “Yes, thank you. I don’t know how I’ll pay you back for this.” “I know a way.” You were both in her car once again, this time driving to an area you were unfamiliar with.
