My daughter, 19, has been with a boy for over a year who has treated her horrifically. He assaulted her not the first time) on the night of her bday this year and although she wanted to not press charges the state picked them up. On the 26th of last month, he was charged with felony assault against her. My daughter still with him. There is obviously a trauma bond there. And another thing that’s the just as fucked up about this situation is the only person that is supporting their relationship is my MOTHER who my daughter, of course, lives with. What layer of hell is this.

This is quite literally my ex husband and I remember sitting around looking at that dinner table with his grandparents and everyone was absolutely miserable with the choices they made in their lives and being like this can't be the rest of my life, and i didn't leave then but that was beginning of the end and 2 months later I was on a plane back home.
