I agree, I also think he HAD to try given everything he did and his entire content page being Road to D1. Now he can say he gave it his best shot and just play basketball for fun. I mentioned that on his post. Having followed him for a while it seemed he stopped having fun playing once he went to OTE.

I was focused on going D1 as well… and after all these interests the only school that took a chance on me was a NAIA school. With that being said I am top 5 all time winningest player, 1000 point scorer, made it to nationals more times than anyone (4) and broke records as a team from freshman year all the way up to my senior year… I say that to say this, young athletes it doesn’t matter what level of sports ur at D1 isn’t the tell all be all especially the way sports is going now u can make it from any level. Even if I coulda walked on somewhere I know I wouldn’t have had nearly as good of an experience as I had going to my NAIA school if I woulda stayed focused on trying to make it D1. Enjoy where u go cuz in all seriousness it truly is hard to play college ball at any level and not many people get that opportunity. 🤝

For sure. D1 basketball is a job. Honestly didn’t enjoy it at all. Didn’t hoop for like five years after graduating.

Why ppl saying he should’ve went for a lower level he had the grades and the stats to go to a top university and get his degree as a back up plan imagine he didn’t make the d3 team and was stuck on a lower academic school

This is a mature take. it is important to set goals and have dreams but chasing titles without regard to happiness is how people get into crippling debt as adults trying to get into prestigious country clubs, neighborhoods, etc. just to say they did. Be honest about what really makes you happy and go after that.

i think he shouldve took a d3 offer or d2 offer and kept working and maybe he wouldve worked his way up to that level and got a scholarship but he was d1 or nothing for some reason but its sad to see he didnt make it either way i wish him the best
