I'd be sending this to HR and be like "I think you need to coach this manager on how to properly manage, guide, and teach interns"... or I would say that to the manager themself while I quit and give them a link to a "how to be a better manager" article lol

What a horrible way to treat someone on their first day! That intern was so polite and trying so hard to do good. I really hope he spreads the word so others don't take that position.

Judging by the spelling and grammar, on first glance I would’ve assumed the intern had 30 years’ experience and the boss did not. Aside from the bullying, his texts were actually painful to read.

everything the "boss" wrote is all kinds of wrong but the "drama and tears" comment was crazy. there was literally no drama or tears in sight. it was a direct and professional message. the boss was the one trying to manufacture both drama and tears.

This manager got told he was getting an intern rather than being asked did he want to mentor an intern and it shows. That level of open hostile shows he never wanted to mentor in the first place.
