I think it’s universal- I generally think it’s a win when you don’t hate your job, you get satisfaction from it, and it pays well. That’s better than most people. You don’t need every aspect of you life to be perfect! Good enough in some areas is great!

Today I bought a pair of size 8, rigid, non-stretch, high rise slim hip and thigh. I’ve never met you, but you’ve been an inspiration all along the way for me. Started at 300lbs and now wearing small/size 8 in unbelievable. Thank you for all you do putting yourself out there!

Absolutely can relate! I find after having kids (3 yr old and 6 months) I care way less about my job. It’s a weird feeling because prior to having kids I spent so much time building a successful high earning career. I have a bit of a “golden handcuffs” job and I’m way too risk averse to try something new at this point.

I do think it’s normal, and I’m having those thoughts too. I always go back to what my (incredibly successful) dad always said: you don’t need to love your job, but if you don’t love your job, you need to LOVE the life it lets you live. 💙

I’m absolutely there (46). I think I had to decide that liking my job is enough. Bc I am now really leaning into my life outside of work. I am just so over reaching for the next step. I just want to LOVE my life with my family, spouse and myself. Work is just a part of that. Not that.

I’m 51, was main bread winner and I just left my corporate job last week. Will be taking some time to see what to do next. I was great at my job but hated it. I get how you feel. My husband just retired. He was a college professor.

Once you give up the goal of loving your job and accept that ‘good enough’ is fine you will be happier. Thinking we need to love our jobs is a trap like the ‘follow your passion’ crap. If your job pays the bills and is generally ok you win.

I’m 35 and relate to this so much, unfortunately. I’ve got the job I wanted, am using the degree I worked so hard for, and frequently talk about leaving HR and getting certified as a yoga instructor and baking sourdough. I truly don’t feel like I know what I want to be “when I grow up.”

I relate to everything 💯 I try to find other things that fill my cup outside my job, it just stinks that my job sucks up so much of my time and energy each day, some days I don’t have enough for my cup after working and mom-ing.

I’m not sure what you do for your day job - but if it’s something that you can translate into your own business, I think you should do it. You seem incredibly motivated and the type of person who can do anything when challenged. I’m at my mid-life crisis stage and questioning everything so I have a much different perspective - so take it with a grain of salt.

someone made the comment "Good enough in some areas is great". I think that is so true. We, as women, feel pressured to do it all and be all. That's why many don't take the time to be self-aware. I think you're doing a good job trying to balance it all. I have been where you are. I am now 60 years old, retired and I can tell you each season or chapter brings something different. Enjoy where you are now bc things can change in an instant. One of my favorite songs of all time is Kenny Chesney's "Don't blink". The words to that song just resonate. So much more...but I can so remember those feelings you're describing! Normal life feelings...25 yrs later you will be proud of the job you did & what you were able to do for you & your family.😃 Be proud now!
