@trippy.gregg.suits: Original 1965–66 printing “Acid Test” membership/ID card associated with Ken Kesey’s Merry Pranksters and Intrepid Trips, Inc. ​The Acid Tests were the legendary parties organized by Kesey and the Merry Pranksters in California in 1965–66. They combined LSD, experimental light and sound, performance art, and live music. The Grateful Dead were essentially the house band at many of them, before they were nationally famous. These events are considered one of the major birthplaces of the San Francisco psychedelic scene that exploded a year or two later. The Smithsonian has preserved Kesey’s large “Can You Pass the Acid Test?” sign as an important artifact of the period. ​🎶 🎵 ​Original mono pressing of The Doors’ landmark 1967 debut album. The mono edition features a dedicated mix that is distinct from the more common stereo version, with a tighter, heavier, more direct presentation of the band.
