Happy 27th 🎂🤍📸 Celebrating our Dubai launch party for @Salaam Girls If you’re struggling with abuse, you don’t have to be alone. You don’t have to go through it silently. People constantly tell me not to share my story. Not to tell the world what happened. But every time someone tells me their own story and says, “I wish someone had helped me sooner,” it reminds me exactly why I started sharing mine. I know I’m not the only girl who grew up in a home where you’re taught to hold onto a marriage no matter what — even when there’s physical, emotional or financial abuse, and even when the children are watching it all happen. For 19 years, we lived through what felt like the worst chapter of our lives. Then, while I was in nursing school, everything changed. We became homeless. No savings. No income for my mom because she had never been allowed to work. And somehow, after 1–2 years of hardship, Allah opened doors we couldn’t even imagine. I went from barely travelling 10km from my home to travelling around the world just a few years later. If you’re in a situation where you feel trapped, please know that asking for help is not weakness. Your safety matters. Reach out to someone you trust and seek support. I’m not saying every disagreement means you have to leave. But if you are being threatened, harmed, controlled, or abused, you deserve safety and support. You might not see the light right now. But sometimes the chapter you’re terrified to leave is the chapter standing between you and the life Allah has written for you. 🤍 If you need someone to talk to, I’m here. Join our free global sisterhood chat through @SalaamGirls — no selling, just women supporting women. 🤍
