People who discourage others from becoming nurses are privileged and elitist. For A LOT of people the wage hike after their ASN is the most money they have ever made in their life time. Some people come from NOTHINGGGGG and nursing will be the only thing that pulls their family out of poverty.

every time I get on this app it’s always a nurse saying how much they hate their lives from being a nurse. it’s really discouraging me, I worked so hard getting all my prerequisites done just for people to tell me I’m making a huge mistake. And as someone who’s pretty sensitive, it’s awful to think you’re going to be abused by staff and patients for 12 hours. The only thing getting me through is the possibility of a comfortable life somewhere in a clinic or home health.

Im so glad my teachers know about this. my fav teacher calls them "old crusties" and reassured us by reminding us that they may complain... but they're still there 😂

i had a previous youth leader from my former church ask me "are you sure you wanna become a nurse?" her reasoning was the burnout & politics, & i could tell she was tired of being a nurse. anyways, i didn't listen, & i graduated from nursing school 3 weeks ago.

After 20+ years in healthcare, I'm in nursing school and let me say, I feel I have a pretty good grasp on what leads to burnout, what to do about it, etc. Some of these nurses are too scared to stand up for themselves or change jobs.
