every time I fly, I tell them no. I had one guy when I was flying back from Vegas to New York and he told me well. It’s gonna take a minute. I looked at them told him that’s OK. It took an additional 45 seconds of waiting for someone to come.

It might be what the website says or even the law but ITS NOT WHAT THEY DO!! I have be pulled out and taken me into an entirely different area, which I had to wait in line again for. Everyone was rude to me and made a huge deal about me not wanting to use the facial recognition at the multitude of airports. I have traveled 2025 and 2026!

I opt out every time. Just ask to opt out of having your photo taken, they turn off the camera and usually also scan your boarding pass.

I’ve been declining it all this year but I just traveled recently and noticed they keep your documents longer jot something down & ask for your flight number then they finally give you back your passport.. when before they didn’t do that when you asked to opt out.

I do believe some airports have signs saying they’re not mandatory. I opted out only because I read a flyer hang while I was standing in line. I may have been in NYC.
