For the fcking idiots: OMFG U IDIOTS SHUT TF UP SERIOUSLY. everybody knows black panthers aren’t a separate species 😭. “black panther” is not EVEN FCKING supposed to be the name of a separate species. that is literally the point of the term. “black panther” is the established common name for melanistic leopards and jaguars. saying “actually it’s a melanistic leopard 🤓” doesn’t refute anything, you’re just giving the taxonomic species and phenotype that make it a black panther. common names do not have to represent separate species lmfao.
