DMC floss is honestly my favorite to stitch with…people will tell you they hate it, but I love how vast the colorways are & love how inexpensive it is in comparison to all the other fibers 🫣

1. The first canvas would be a perfect sunglasses case! 2. You can 100% use DMC for stitching. There’s different varieties but for the floss (most common) you use all six strands on 13 mesh and four strands on 18 mesh. 3. I put threads that don’t come on cards in pill bags and hole punch those and put them on a key ring. 4. Not a millionaire 😅 5. You can use continental forever if you want 6. Stretcher bars are personal preference. I only use them for large projects and I only use a needleminder with stretcher bars bc otherwise it weighs down my canvas. Welcome to needlepoint!

Not a millionaire just severely in debt 💸 haha jkjk just accumulated my stash overtime! This isn’t all of them, but also I paint some of my own. Also also, i do not wrap my thread on cards, I buy them like that, the difference is the cards are only 10 yards but the skeins are 30 yards.

I’m doing my first project and it’s a sunglasses case, it looks similar in size to yours so you might try that! I’m using the dmc 5 floss from Michael’s that is braided

I cross stitch so I have LOTS of embroidery floss and yes I always wrap my floss on the plastic bobbins. It helps me with organization and tangling. It’s like a whole hobby within itself

Hi lovely, welcoming to the club! 1. YES on the needle minder, I know first hand stabbing myself in the ass is not fun… and they are super cute! 2. Stretcher bars can be super helpful to keep the canvas from warping. You can absolutely stitch without them, but you might find it easier when you use them. 3. DMC is absolutely fine to use! I know many stitchers that use it only. 4. Just have fun! People are going to say there are “rules” really they are loose guidelines and you do whatever makes you happy, it is YOUR art, and you are doing great!!

And you’ll probably eventually want to try a decorative stitch, they can be fun and provide different textures. Finally, I love a needleminder and stretcher bars. The bars help your canvases stay straight (not warping) and if the needleminder is strong enough, your scissors can stick to it too

Coming from a girlie who started with all the threads from my lns and then switched to DMC. I LOVE DMC. So affordable. I still love my essentials but I honestly can’t tell you the last time I used anything other than dmc. I have started designing my own canvases, painting them, and using dmc and I call that needlepointing on a budget 😅
