the crazy thing is that the pens arent even accurate anymore because people make fake bills that are made out of real bill paper, so the marker will say theyre real even when theyre not. Checking for the watermarks is wayyyy more accurate. 😭

$100 bills also have a printing number line and so do $50s. All US bills of any value will also say if it is legal tender or not normally on the front with the presidents face

My uncle actually taught me another trick to check if the cash is real. If you hold say a 50 dollar bill up towards a light, you can see a line right by the face on the bill that says the money’s amount. It’s hidden in the bill, usually bigger ones like 20, 50 and 100s

At the retail job I currently work at we have a machine that we run 50s and 100s through to make sure they’re not counterfeit. The marker test got too confusing.
