It drives me nuts when people insist turners isn’t on the intersex spectrum, my 2 year old started with XY chromosomes that she left in her placenta and developed 100% XO, we will follow her lead on how she feels as she grows! I explain it to people by saying, we have no idea if her brain got XY or XO, and it’s not up to us to decide that for her. Probably not how it technically works, but it gets the point across lol

the amount of trans people i know who have found out theyre intersex is crazy. This is why UNIVERSAL healthcare is so important. People need their health taken care of all around!❤️❤️

not as extreme but I'll always be upset at my parents for keeping my depression diagnosis from me and refusing to get me medical help for adhd. They really said 'pray it away' 🫠 Parents should not be able to deny their kids healthcare.

One of my best friend is intersex and she is still figuring out her identity because doctors stole her choice from her, just to cram her in a gender box

Much love to you, this is exactly why as someone with degrees in both psychological science and biomedical science I get so angry when right wingers sprout the “there’s only two genders and two sexes” because the reality is there is so so so so so many different chromosomal pairs then just xx and xy and so many things that can influence development. This is why proper education matters and why these homophobic and transphobic rhetoric’s hurt even cis xx and xy people. Thank you for sharing your story with us all, and I am so incredibly glad you are still here to tell your story 🥹🫂💞

Not health related but i found out late that my dad is not my bio dad and that my bio grandparents tried to keep me in their lives as they only had a single son that passed away so I know what it's like to have something kept from you by your parents 😭

I'm also intersex and unfortunately your story is very common. Many parents lie and don't disclose the diagnoses or the non consensual medical interventions and operations they have done to their children. The common explanation when the children find out is "I just wanted you to have a normal life". This makes me so angry. It should make more people angry, because everyone is like "protect the children" but if only those children are not following the gender norms in "the right way"

I could maybe process them hiding being intersex and lying about the follow ups being Turner syndrome specifically... super messed up and not excusing AT ALL, but I could see that happening. Ignoring the potential for myriad health problems and risking your child's LIFE to keep that lie is barbaric. I'm so sorry for your experience.
