I understand this…my exhusband, preacher/pastor, molested our children. I have hated him. God allowed me to do that for a while. Then He began to deal with me, that He expects me to forgive him. Stop carrying a burden He died for so I would not have to. If He expects me to forgive this, He expects you to forgive too. I told God, I hated this man for what he done to my children And God told me, my sin put His Baby Boy on a cross, caused His death, and that He did not hate me🥺 I wish I could say I don’t struggle with this, but that would be a lie! But I know what He expects me to try and ultimately do✝️

I grew up in church, stepped away for a while, now at 45 Im back/two years sober/and just got baptized. I watched this yesterday and knew it was going to make me so mad, but it also reminded me that we NEED to pray on discernment and spend time in the Word, putting our trust in God not people. Thats the kind of stuff that made me turn my back on God in my teens.

Here's what else it should tell the church; stop protecting the abuser and believe the victim. Support the victim when that means they have to leave the abuser. Stop pressing them to stay, heal, and show them grace.
