The Igede people have no history of war in Nigeria because they did not originally come from Nigeria. They migrated from Congo and Mali. I want to share the full history of the Igede people and their origins. Just like the Igbo, Fulani, and Hausa, they come from a shared ancestral source. Due to their non-violent history in this country, the Igede have remained one of Nigeria’s greatest minority tribes. Oju is currently under Idoma land, the Igede still lack a distinct and clearly defined homeland. Because they are not indigenous to Nigeria, they should return to their country of origin and create their own local government there.
