And the beautiful thing is AI models have zero memory. Every time you ask a follow-up question, the app resends your entire chat history.
Turn 1 equals 500 tokens. Turn 4 equals 3,500 tokens. You pay exponentially more for the exact same question lengths.

Think of it like Costco. You pay for access but the stuff in the store still costs money

Wait until the bubble pops and the remaining AI providers start to charge enough to cover their costs... bills are going to sky-rocket.

Like a cell phone plan from the early 2000s, you have to pay for service and also minutes in order to use it.

imagine a company thinking hiring a person to spend money to ask another company's machine how to do their job. instead of hiring and paying someone who knows what theyre doing and is educated in the matter what theyre worth.

It’s the fool-tax. Businesses jumping on the AI bandwagon without knowing what it even is or how it works or bills is just business. You listened to the wrong people.

Companies are only doing this because the fear of missing out after the .com craze in the late 90’s/early 2000’s btw. Common sense would tell them that it’s a massive bubble nearing the point of bursting.

its only like this because corpos wanted AI to be profitable instead of infrustructural and they had to come up with a way yo turn compute into some kind of revenue

So bad budgeting? Because you agreed to pay those fees, it's not like they snuck them in... The Department head and FP&A person clearly didn't understand cost drivers

Not all companies charge per tokens. There are some which charge per seat and some use a hybrid model. Choosing the right one is quite tricky but important if you don’t want to ruin your company. But realistically someone has to pay for AI. AI companies operating at a loss (which most still do) isn’t a sustainable business model.

The current situation is as it is, and it cannot be changed for the time being. The only way to reduce costs is to change the cost of the circuit path and the usage method. If the price of the TOKEN of the model you are using decreases by 80%, these can be ignored
