The reason why they do this is because it affects their bonus. So they harass and bully their team. They have zero actual management skills most of the time. And they’re pushing you so you can up their bonus. I absolutely hated working retail for this reason.

it makes me want to throat punch them 😒 then they sit around in the back with the manager and shoot the shit for hours, instead of seeing or dealing with the bs and mega Karens we get all day. but then we get bitched at for not selling enough credit cards, while mega Karen number 15 is yelling at us because we don't take checks.

I love how they always say customer engagement is our number one priority. It’s low right now. Mean while, us customers do not care that you don’t talk to us what so ever. I’d rather if you just be quiet and let me do my errands. 😂

I liked our DM. He was in and out quickly most of the time. It was the day the auditors came that made my stress levels rise. And of course they came on the busiest day. Because I was the most senior person, I got put on Register 1 (the actual lead had to be on the floor, monitoring the registers).

Literally. My stores DM wants us stopping everyone as soon as they walk into greet them. That would just create a traffic jam by blocking the entrance. Also for context, I work at Spencer’s, and he wants us being everyone’s personal shopper in the back section. People want to be left alone back there since it’s such a personal space, they don’t want someone standing over their shoulder the whole time telling them what to buy

I’m confused why store managers were unprepared for for their DM visit as examples? My old director used to white glove my store and I passed every time. And I was highest ranked conversion manager in my last company 🥹
