@moneywithpete: A £200,000 mortgage sounds like you’re borrowing £200,000… but how much could you actually end up paying back? 🏠💷 The length of your mortgage can make a HUGE difference. A longer term can bring your monthly payments down, but what happens to the total amount you repay might surprise you. In this example, I compare a £200,000 repayment mortgage over 25 years vs 40 years, assuming a 5% interest rate throughout to keep the comparison simple. Real mortgage rates can change over time, people may remortgage, and your actual repayments will depend on your individual mortgage and circumstances. This is an illustrative example, not a prediction of future mortgage costs. Would you rather pay more each month to get the mortgage cleared sooner, or take the lower monthly payment? 👀 Follow @moneywithpete for more UK money made simple. 💷 #money #MoneyTips #finance #PersonalFinance #moneymindset #wealth #investing

Then when you've cleared it and gave massive amounts of interest and then say you get ill the government takes the house and sells to pay for your care in a home. so it's always WIN WIN WIN WIN for the government and then if you have a little bit in the bank when you die the government takes that. 😳 I fucking hate them they're just theifs in suits and convince you there here for your good 🤣🤣🤣

Plus maintenance cost not counting anything that actually ads value. Probably add on extra 10 20 k. The argument would be if you rent its dead money. £1250 of my £1450 mortgage payments are dead money as it’s rent to the bank interest. What do I get for the 200 payment stress and hassle when stuff goes wrong
