Im less than 150 pages from finishing The Brothers Karamazov and I already decided about halfway through that I was going to re-read it at some point. as I didnt really understand it. As for Blood Meridian, it was my first DNF Ive logged......and I suffered through Ulysses! 😂

Re read and re read BM. Just keep going. It gets better and better. Try the audio book again (I know you didn’t like it the first time listening). Make sure it’s the Richard Poe narration though. It incredible.

Foucault’s Pendulum by Umberto Eco gets better if you immediately reread it after finishing it, starting the story over with the same knowledge as the protagonist. I’ve read it over twenty times in the past 25 years and it still impressed me on my reread a few months ago.

Books I reread: She’s Come Undone and I Know This Much is True by Wally Lamb. His dissection of the heart and souls of his characters is unmatched. Absolute masterpieces! Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell. Beautiful prose, complex characters, and a classic. Haven’t reread it yet but check out Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett. Historical fiction meets family saga.
