Yes raised on northern beans as well as pintos. We always had fried potatoes and cornbread. The beans needed to be a little more soupy for my cornbread.

My family made navy beans with ham and my husbands family made pinto beans with ham. Both always had fried potatoes and cornbread with them. 😋

Eat these all the time. I use the ham bone after a holiday meal. My boys like lots of ham. Also add a little brown sugar. Got to have cornbread, too.

Maybe you have, but I haven’t seen it yet but did you eat cornbread and milk as a dessert? My dad from Hyden Kentucky would feed it to us as kids saying it was better than ice cream lol!

Make it Large lima beans (butter beans) with plenty of juice, corn bread and onion and a side of mashed potatoes. That's a perfect meal for me.
