Ghanaians may not see it that way, but being a foreigner in Ghana can be really stressful. My mom is Ghanaian and has lived in Côte d’Ivoire since the ’80s without ever experiencing any stress. But when I came to Ghana, before getting my documents, it was hell even though I’m Ghanaian through my mom.

It’s the same in Qatar when you are a foreigner living here. If your QID expires you are being charged a fine per day.

Dear I’m Ghanaian and I’ve lived abroad, residency is different from work permit and we all comply, we don’t complain, in my former country of residence overstay is $50 a day, but the good thing is if you have all this documentation the law protects you to the fullest and you enjoy all rights and privileges a citizen would, dear pls don’t complain some country charges 10x what Ghana charges

Most of the citizens think foreigners are living freely in Ghana 🇬🇭 they dont know what thay are going through even to get a common Sim card is a problem

these two documents serve 2 different purposes. resident permit is like a visa that gives you the authority to stay in Ghana for the purpose stated in the resident purpose. Non-citizenship Ghana card is an ID card that every foreign national who stays in Ghana over 3 months should have. you can pay up to 5 years in advance for non-citizenship card so that you don't have to renew it every year.
