thank you for sharing these moments, I can definitely see how this would help someone reframe behavior that's happening now before it escalates or recognize behavior that hasn't actually been fixed regardless of promises.

As a child of abuse, I often automatically check internally to see what my instinctive reaction would be in the place of the abuser in described scenarios like this. A reality check mechanism I’ve always had. My instinctive reaction was literally “hey babe, can you turn off Siri while your phone is glitching? Just so it doesn’t ping again while I’m trying to sleep?”.

Phone get the oddest glitches! Had a friend who had to change his number 'cause he was stuck in a teen text group, he was in his 70s. He'd blocked their numbers, asked them to band him, everything he could think of, and still had his cell ringing off the hook 4-10pm. Finally changed his number, and that fixed it. I've had a phone who had a Spotify glitch which would turn off play lists or episodes if you used the Spotify timer. Scared the shit out of me at 2am when a horror pod cast suddenly turned on.

In different relationships and even getting to know guys in the past, I experienced abuse with almost all - but didn't know it was abuse at the time. I just thought 'they're being mean, that's what guys do' and it was the excuse to overlook something deeper and darker in their intentions. Now I know what it actually was (abuse) and it wasn't ok - even guys 'being mean' isn't ok, as it's practically the same as abuse. The conditioning received growing up about how boys/men show love by being mean or bullying messed me up and was so wrong.

I tend to wear wireless headphones a lot (don’t ask) and occasionally I will get connected/disconnected messages through them which I guess is linked to my laptop, even if I’m not using it. Tech is rubbish. I also disable “assistants” like Siri for privacy reasons. Pity the tech bros don’t care about things like DV - Siri, Alexa, etc, should be able to recognise it… not sure what their response should be though.
