in 2020 I bought a 07 cbr1000rr for $4000 in perfect condition. sold out 4 years later for $4000. looked recently and sport bike prices are laughably ridiculous

in 2014 I bought my 02 Yamaha R1 with 12k miles for 3500 had a guy at work want it offered 4k then 5k (because I honestly didn't want to sell it) then he offered me 6k for it in 2018 with 18k miles and that was enough for my wallet to get over the emotional ownership of it. if it wasn't for him I would still own it to this day though and he still owns it and probably about 30k miles on it now.

Bikes are worth what the book says, add ons do not increase the amount. My bike is a 2021 Harley soft tail I paid 9,988 plus fees, I know it's blue book is 7,000. I've added $1,500 in parts to make it mine. and now my bike is worth 7,000.

I've noticed this while looking for a new to me bike, everyone thinks their bike is made of gold, but crazy high miles. almost makes me want to buy a new one for a couple grand more.

Idk how people think they can ask so much for used bike I paid like 10k ish together my 2025 MT-07 out the door Im only assuming I may get $6000 or $6500 if I decide to sell or trade in

its got a $5k custom paint job, and aftermarket grips or whatever, that doubles its value. 🤣 I got 5 bikes and know their value, 3 are track bikes with some nice suspension and bit and pieces, custom krylon paint job, better maintenance and care than most. Each isn't worth the price of the penske rear shock on them 🤣
