two things I would check. iac (idle air control) and tps sensor if you have the right voltage

Victor garage :
check something else too on my fox body , which I haven't fix yet lol , the engine harness is old and when I move and squeeze the cables the idle changes, I'm saving money to get a complete engine harness kit with all new plugs and sensors

B-Rad’s Garage :
Did you clean the throttle body? Gets a lot of carbon buildup on the blade and housing that would cause surging idle.

Try cleaning the mass airflow sensor. Fixed mine

Pike🇺🇸 :
mine did the same thing and I took the intake off and went thru the vacuum lines, I found a few bad lines and now she runs really smooth no more rough idle

check the voltage on the tps sensor and do a base idle reset.

I thought that egr delete plug was so that the check engine light didn't come on. I didn't think it had anything to do with the way your engine ran.

Long tubes are definitely good more torque for the motor that’s what I run on mine too

Just something to look into.thats why a lot of people when they get new exhaust systems, they keep the cats on them. I’ll order system with cat back system
