Can this not be detected by testing the water? Are the lakes/ ponds in the US not being tested regularly to see if they are safe for people to swim in?

I live in Oklahoma. We have a Lake House in the very southeastern part of the state. I am absolutely terrified of this. I have stopped allowing people to jump off my boat and off my boat docks.

Yeah. Make Claiborne where Lillian contracted it is a popular freshwater lake where tons of folks have swam for years and years. It’s terrifying.
