I am in the fortunate position of having a mortgage that is fully offset, so I am not paying any interest. Just completed my timeout period from the cash back when I took out the mortgage . What should I be asking them for in returning for staying with them?

We approached westpac when we came up for renewal after 10 years with them … they didn’t offer 💩 so we jumped ship

So strange to see anz not playing ball, I find them great. I do this myself every time my mortgage is up. I research all rates I can find and get in writing and tell the bank to better it (not match) and give me cash back. It goes straight to the holiday fund.

I did this with westpac, and they tried to push back by saying I needed an account with another bank beforehand and I pushed back with actually I hold accounts with this bank and two others

Is there a certain timeframe you need to be with the bank before asking? Like at least 3-4 years? Cashback when first bought was valid for 3 years, like if I moved I’d have to pay it back. Now I’ve been on for an additional 4 years (7 in total) surely they should give something right? I’ve enquired but already been over a week and not sure what’s taking so long. Thank you for this. 🙏
